Medical Services
When your pet is sick, life is stressful for both of you. We are here to address those medical needs while keeping the stress to a minimum. Whether it’s chronic allergies, ear infections, osteoarthritis, or unexplained weight loss, we are set up to diagnose and treat a variety of illnesses. In-depth discussion with you about your pet’s history and symptoms, a thorough physical exam, and appropriate diagnostic tests will be done. We offer digital X-rays, in-house and send-out blood work, ultrasound, and dental X-rays. From there, the treatments can include medication, change in diet, laser therapy, surgery, environmental enrichment, behavior modification or possibly even a referral.
Quinn VCBC is specifically set up to see patients that are anxious, fearful, or have experienced past trauma so we personalize each appointment to make sure the pet’s needs, both physical and emotional, are met. This includes extended appointment times, a quiet and calming atmosphere, premedication for anxiety, sedation if needed, and advice on how to prepare for visits. We understand how to handle and help with your pet’s anxiety which allows everyone to have a better experience.
We also are experts at understanding how medical and behavioral problems go hand-in-hand. GI issues, arthritis, dental pain, sleep pattern disturbances, and dementia are just a few of the physical problems that can lead to behavioral changes such as growling, snapping, and house soiling. Experts estimate that up to 80% of behavior issues have a component of underlying pain. Integrating medical and behavioral healthcare treats the whole pet.
